{"id":14183,"date":"2025-01-14T08:16:17","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T08:16:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.therapglobal.net\/globalblog\/?p=14183"},"modified":"2025-01-27T09:58:17","modified_gmt":"2025-01-27T09:58:17","slug":"therap-global-teams-visit-to-nigeria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.therapglobal.net\/globalblog\/therap-global-teams-visit-to-nigeria\/","title":{"rendered":"Therap Global Team\u2019s Visit to Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jeremy Robbins, Director- Business Development Africa &amp; Americas and Johanna Kroth, Director of Global Implementation from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.therapglobal.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Therap Global<\/strong><\/a> visited Nigeria in December 2024 to have meetings and trainings with organisations providing services to persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>One of the highlights of the visit was to conduct a 2-day orientation session for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.clintonhealthaccess.org\/nigeria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) Nigeria<\/a><\/strong>, CHAI is a globally renowned organization dedicated to enhancing access to essential healthcare in low- and middle-income countries, and has taken a transformative step to support children with disabilities. Under this project, CHAI Nigeria aims to use Therap to collect assessment and intervention data related to Play Therapy for 25,000 children with disabilities aged 0-6 in Lagos and Kaduna.<\/p>\n<p>The training focused on essential topics such as conducting screenings and assessments for children and effectively documenting this information within Therap. The hands-on session ensured the staff were well-equipped to utilize Therap\u2019s platform for the project\u2019s success.<\/p>\n<p>During their visit,\u00a0 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.therapglobal.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Therap Global<\/a><\/strong> team had the opportunity to connect with both current users and organizations interested in adopting Therap. Meetings included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Providers Already Using Therap:<\/strong> Engaging with existing users, such as Patrick\u2019s Speech and Language Centre, which has been leveraging Therap for over five years. The team gained valuable insights into their ongoing use of the platform and discussed future improvements.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prospective Users:<\/strong> Meeting with potential customers who expressed interest in Therap and even applied for grants to determine their eligibility for assistance with documentation tools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One of the most heartwarming moments of the visit was attending a creative talent concert at Patrick\u2019s Speech and Language Centre. Students with autism performed music (singing, dancing, keyboard, and drums) and a drama about the importance of proper diagnosis and strategies and the need for acceptance for children with special needs.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.therapglobal.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Therap Global<\/strong><\/a> team\u2019s visit to Nigeria reinforced their commitment to empowering children with disabilities and strengthening ties with the Nigerian community.
