Therap and SWID Bangladesh jointly organized a workshop in Rangpur, Bangladesh on June 11, 2017 in RCCI auditorium, Rangpur. As Rangpur is one of the eight divisions of Bangladesh and the place of the workshop was centered in the middle of Rangpur city so attendance from special schools and organizations was higher. Around 200 people from SWID affiliated special schools and organizations attended the workshop. Most of the attendees were teachers, special educators and head teachers of the schools.

Prattay Iqbal, International Business Development Executive, Therap talked about Therap and introduced Therap to the attendees. The attendees then got to see some of Therap’s support materials such as user guides and training videos. Jowaherul Islam Mamun, President, SWID Bangladesh talked about SWID and then thanked Therap team for collaborating with SWID Bangladesh to organize the workshop. Shahadat Hossain, Psychologist, SWID Bangladesh talked about autism and gave suggestions and advised on how to take care of an intellectually disabled child to the teachers and special educators from special schools and organizations. Md. Asad Uzzaman Sazzad, Training and Implementation Specialist, later spoke to the attendees as they had a lot of questions. Attendees in the workshop showed a lot of interest in using Therap and Therap team is willing to organize training sessions with the users very soon.

After the workshop Therap and SWID Bangladesh team also visited some schools in the remote area of Rangpur. They are currently providing services to persons with disabilities. School authorities cordially welcomed the whole team and talked about their curriculum and services provided by them.
