Faisal with Sister Anastasia in Daya Mina

We visited Daya Mina, an organization which works with persons with Intellectual Disabilities in Sri Lanka. It is situated in Thalapathpitiya, Nugegoda, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Daya Mina is part of a charitable organization called “Sisters of Charity”. “Sisters of Charity” has two other such facilities across Sri Lanka. One of them, Supem Uyana, is based in Gonapinuwala. And the other one, Meth Mihira, is based in Koralawella, Moratuwa.

In Daya Mina, we met with Sister Anastasia, who was in charge of the establishment. Daya Mina provides vocational training, early intervention and different therapies. They try to develop different skills of persons with Intellectual Disabilities, such as social  and communication. Such skills would help them adopt better in the society. Different forms of art crafts, such as candles, key rings and carpets are being made there. The activities of Daya Mina is highly appreciable.
