Therap application has been widely used for documenting information on Persons with Disabilities (PWD) for over 15 years and it’s currently being used on daily basis in different parts of the world. Therap Global participated in the 22nd Asian Federation on Intellectual Disabilities (AFID) Conference in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2015 which was attended by agencies and service providers working with Persons with Disabilities (PWD) around the globe. Among the attendees was the Society for the Welfare of the Intellectually Disabled, Bangladesh (SWID). SWID is an organization working to develop social awareness regarding intellectual disability and advocacy for establishing equal rights of intellectually disabled also showed interest to work with us. The 23rd Conference of Asian Federation on Intellectual Disabilities (AFID) in Dhaka, Bangladesh was hosted by SWID Bangladesh where Therap Global was the technology partner and one of the sponsors.
The collaboration between Therap Global and SWID Bangladesh has come a long way since 2015. Since the affiliation, 3 branches of SWID schools in Dhaka and many specialized schools in North Bengal under SWID umbrella have been implementing our system for their day-to-day documentation and the number has been increased to around 20 specialized schools in Bangladesh. Our Global team has been organizing online and on-site training for schools under SWID umbrella. The online and on-site training gives an overview of different features of the system and demonstrates the process flow. Currently, our suite of application is used by skilled and credentialed professionals of SWID who are providing support to handicapped individuals.
