Therap to visit Sri Lanka

Faisal Iqbal, Assistant Manager of Training and Implementation and Andalib Kabir, International Business Development Executive of Therap are going to visit Sri Lanka from 13 November 2015. During this visit, we are going to institutes in Galle and Colombo of Sri Lanka. Last time, we went to Sri Lanka to attend the 22nd Conference on Asian Federation on Intellectual Disabilities (AFID). During that visit we met several interested institutes in Sri Lanka who are willing to use Therap. During this visit we will focus on visiting those institutes, and provide them with a demonstration of the software. Follow us and stay updated on our tour in Sri Lanka.

Another visit to Institute of Neuro-Development and Research

Institute of Neuro-Development and Research (INDR) Therap visited Institute of Neuro-Development and Research (INDR), to follow up with their training. INDR has been continuing the efforts of implementing Therap. The training on ISP Programs has started. INDR is thinking about using Therap for documentation in different sites of INDR. Therap will be there to help with implementation.

Visiting the newly elect president of Asian Federation on Intellectual Disabilities (AFID)

Andalib and Faisal with staff and management of SWID Therap team visited the new president-elect of Asian Federation on Intellectual Disabilities (AFID), Mr. Jowaherul Islam Mamun. He is also serving as the current president of the executive board of Society for the Welfare of the Intellectually Disabled (SWID), Bangladesh. The 23rd Conference of the Asian Federation on Intellectual Disabilities will be held in Bangladesh in 2017. As part of the preparations of the conference, we had a preliminary discussion with Mr. Mamun. Therap would like to show support as the exclusive official ICT partner for the conference. Implementation at Smiling Children Special School

SCSS teachers using Therap SCSS teachers using Therap Another implementation session at Smiling Children Special School, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We are currently training them on ISP Program and ISP Data. The current process they follow, for therapy, is the ABA method. They do all the documentation manually, in paper. With the introduction of Therap, now they will be able to store data related to the service provided to the persons with Intellectual Disabilities, online. They are adapting to the new system very well. Hopefully we will be able to complete this phase of implementation soon.

The teachers, therapists, along with the principal of SWID Laboratory Model School, were also present at the session. SWID Laboratory Model School is the leading school under SWID. A Step Forward for Smiling Children Special School

Andalib and Sejan at Smiling Children Special School Sejan conducting the training on Therap at SCSS Smiling Children Special School (SCSS) moved a step forward, in using Therap. Recently we held another training session at SCSS. In the session Andalib and Sejan briefed the staff at SCSS on ISP Program & ISP Data. The staff of SCSS also explained on the current form of documentation done by them. It was an informative session. At the end of the session, they had a clear  idea about ISP Program. Training Session at Smiling Children Special School

We went there to hold another training session. Different issues were solved during the session. Therap Visits Society for the Welfare of the Intellectually Disabled (SWID), Bangladesh

SWID, Bangladesh school in 4/A, Eskaton Garden, Dhaka, Bangladesh Therap visited Society for the Welfare of the Intellectually Disabled (SWID), Bangladesh. We met with Mr. Jowaherul Islam Mamun, President of SWID. He is also serving as the current president of Asian Federation on Intellectual Disabilities (AFID). We had some initial discussions with the president about future cooperation between SWID and Therap. We  attended a reception, organized by SWID for the Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, who were successful in the Special Olympics. This year the event was held in Los Angeles, USA. Therap appreciates the participation of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities from Bangladesh in the Special Olympics. We wish them all the best for such future ventures.

Therap Visits “Beautiful Mind”

Andalib and Faisal at Beautiful Mind Beautiful Mind, Uttara, Dhaka, Bangladesh   Therap visited a special school by the name "Beautiful Mind", situated in Uttara, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Beautiful Mind is a private organization registered under the Ministry of Social Welfare of Bangladesh. The special school was established in July 2004 by founder chairperson Dr. Shamim Matin Chowdhury. The chairperson has been a professional in the field for more than 30 years. We had some preliminary discussions with the special school. Hopefully good news will follow shortly. Follow the blogs to keep updated of all the activities of Therap in Asia.

Therap Visits Daya Mina

Faisal with Sister Anastasia in Daya Mina We visited Daya Mina, an organization which works with persons with Intellectual Disabilities in Sri Lanka. It is situated in Thalapathpitiya, Nugegoda, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Daya Mina is part of a charitable organization called "Sisters of Charity". "Sisters of Charity" has two other such facilities across Sri Lanka. One of them, Supem Uyana, is based in Gonapinuwala. And the other one, Meth Mihira, is based in Koralawella, Moratuwa. In Daya Mina, we met with Sister Anastasia, who was in charge of the establishment. Daya Mina provides vocational training, early intervention and different therapies.
