Therap Global’s Successful Training at Special Education and Rehabilitation Center (SERC) in Nepal

Therap Global team’s next scheduled visit in Nepal has been to Special Education and Rehabilitation Center (SERC) to conduct an onsite training session. Our Therap Global Training and Implementation Specialists- Asad Uzzaman Sazzad and Hasin Israq, were warmly greeted by Anish K.C., General Manager of SERC, Nepal. A total of 8 teachers attended the training session followed by a practice session. This training session was detail oriented as it comprised how to use features including Nursing/Progress Notes for daily documentation and Individual Data Form (IDF) for maintaining vital information of the individuals at ease. Therap Global at Indonesia

Therap Global team members Prattay Iqbal, International Business Development Executive and Rahmeen Tarek, Marketing Operations Executive are in Indonesia, meeting service providers and agencies working with Persons with Disabilities (PWD). The country is full of majestic mountains and glorious temples and has a population of approximately 245 million, of which 4.45% of the people are registered with some form of disability. However, according to United Nations, the lack of electronic documentation has posed a challenge for providing adequate help and support to the individuals. Therap Global Training Session with Navjyoti Centre, Nepal

Our Therap Global team members are currently in Nepal and meeting with agencies supporting Persons with Disabilities (PWD), and conducting trainings on using Therap application. They had a successful training session with Navjyoti Centre. Asad Uzzaman Sazzad and Hasin Israq, our Training and Implementation Specialists were warmly received by Sister Lisa, Director and Mr. Mohan Doyla, Staff of Navjyoti Centre. Asad and Hasin provided an overview of Therap’s features for recording demographic information and writing daily notes. Therap Global Training Session with NAID-NEPAL

Our Therap Global team members, Hasin Israq and Asad Uzzaman Sazzad are currently in Nepal meeting organizations working with Persons with Disabilities (PWD). On their second day, they were scheduled to do a training at National Association on Intellectual Disabilities-Nepal (NAID-NEPAL). They were warmly welcomed by Rabindra K.C., Director and Sudhir Bhattarai, Special Education Teacher at NAID-NEPAL. Locked between India and China, at the feet of Himalaya, Nepal is a beautiful country filled with natural wonders. According to Action Aid, more than 70% of the Persons with Disabilities in Nepal don’t receive proper help and support due to lack of documentation and other social stigma. Live Group Session on Documenting Blood Glucose and Height/Weight using Therap’s Health Tracking Module on December 20, 2018

Therap Team at a Bengali Wedding

Johanna Kroth and Michelle Saunders were invited to the wedding of our Therap Team members - Rahmeen and Prattay. This was their first time experiencing a Bengali wedding and they had a great time wearing traditional sarees, adorning their hair with flowers and applying henna to their hands for this event. Bengali weddings are fun-filled nights of celebration, dancing, and music. This wedding too was a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. Johanna and Michelle took part in the tradition of applying turmeric on the bride and groom. They loved the dance performances put on by the bride’s and groom’s cousins and friends. Training Session With BRAC Neuro-Developmental Disability Centre

Therap Global team along with Johanna Kroth, Senior Training and Implementation Specialist and Michelle Saunders, Business Development Consultant, held a training session for BRAC Neuro-Developmental Disability Centre (NDD) yesterday. Various sector specialists and teachers from multiple districts working in NDD Centres were present. The training session was conducted on Therap’s T-Log module with a focus on the detailed report, where users can download the reports through excel and review the report for completion, oversight and further analysis. This is particularly helpful to examine the progress of the individuals monthly. Furthermore, a discussion on Health Records module was also held. Nepal, officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, is a landlocked country in South Asia. The disability prevalence of the people in Nepal is 1.9%. However, the lack of a credible documentation system has posed challenges in implementing the right policies and strategies for them. In light of that, Therap Global, the global leader in providing electronic documentation for Persons With Disabilities (PWD) has been working with service providers in Nepal to improve the documentation and adding more value to care and support provided to individuals with disabilities.
