Therap Asia starts an exciting journey with the world’s top NGO, BRAC. BRAC is an International development organisation working globally in Economic Development, Education, Public Health and also Disaster Relief sectors. Limia Dewan, Programme Manager Inclusive Education, from BRAC met with the Therap team at Therap Asia’s 2nd Annual Dhaka Conference, held in April 2018. After attending the sessions at the conference, BRAC showed keen interest to use Therap for their Neurodevelopmental Disability (NDD) Centers and One Room Inclusive Schools where they provide support to Persons With Disabilities (PWD). Therap at Inclusion Self-Advocacy Workshop, Nepal
Therap participated in Inclusion Self-Advocacy Workshop on March 26, 2018 that took place in Kathmandu, Nepal. It was a two day workshop from March 26 to March 27, in partnership with Inclusion International and Parent Federation of Person with Intellectual Disabilities (PFPID). The training was guided by Inclusion International Empower Us self-advocate leaders Jayne from Kenya, Mark from Malawi and David from New Zealand. Therap Team visited Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation, April 2018
Therap team visited Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation (BPF) main branch at Mirpur on April 8, 2018. A team of eleven people from Therap were present on that visit, which included Therap experts in the PWD field who has been working in the field of intellectual disability for more than 20 years. Therap Information Forum in Manila, Philippines
Therap is delighted to organize a successful Information Forum at Orchid Garden Suites in Manila, Philippines in collaboration with St Philomena School on February 16, 2018. In attendance were many special education teachers along with school principals, administrators, speech therapists, psychometricians, developmental pediatricians and others. Therap Team visits Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Provinsi Banten, February 2018
Therap team visited Jakarta, Indonesia in February 20, 2018. Johanna Kroth, Senior Training and Implementation Specialist and Prattay Iqbal, International Business Development Executive from Therap visited Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Provinsi Banten. They are providing residential support to orphans and persons with disabilities in Indonesia. Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Provinsi Banten is using Therap to do their documentation for over one year. During the visit Prattay Iqbal and Johanna Kroth provided training. Nine teachers were present during the training session. Sayap Ibu have been organizing their database through Therap. Therap Team Visits PPRBM YPAC Nasional, February 2018
Therap visited Indonesia on February 2018 and had a training session with PPRBM YPAC Nasional. Johanna Kroth (Senior Training and Implementation Specialist) and Prattay Iqbal (International Business Development Executive) from Therap visited the school. Nana Moeljadi from YPAC Nasional gave Therap team a tour of the school. They have around 60 individuals in the school and they involve the individuals into various activities like music therapy, gardening, making handicrafts and other vocational training . Therap Team at St Philomena School, Philippines
Therap team was at Manila, Philippines during February, 2018. Prattay Iqbal (International Business Development Executive) and Johanna Kroth (Senior Training and Implementation Specialist) visited St Philomena school and conducted a training session with the staff and the school administrators. Therap team received a very warm welcome from St Philomena school management. Around 60 special children are currently enrolled in St Philomena School and they have over 12 special education teachers to provide services. Bangladesh Computer Council in association with ICT Division organized a Job Fair for persons with disabilities (PWD) on January 1, 2018. Therap was invited to the event by Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) & Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) to attend this event. Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, Hon’ble State Minister for ICT Division attended the event as chief guest. It was a great opportunity for the employers who want to employ person with disabilities. Therap Team at Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Provinsi Banten
Johanna Kroth, Senior Training and Implementation Specialist and Prattay Iqbal, International Business Development Executive from Therap Services visited Jakarta during the first week of November and visited few agencies working with persons with disabilities. Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Provinsi Banten is one of the few organizations who are doing some amazing work for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Indonesia.
